FREE Termite Inspection

Termites

Termite treatment begins with a free inspection from one of our licensed inspectors. After the inspection, we'll recommend a path forward. From there, you can choose to schedule service or not.

How can I tell if I have termites?

Here are some of the most common signs of termites:

  • Visible flying termites (called warmers)
  •  Discarded wings
  • Termite droppings (called Frass, these are the color of wood)
  •  Mud tubes
  • Hollow wood, damaged paint or wallpaper
Do termites live in the ground?

They can. There are two types of termites that we typically see:
Subterranean termites. These require moisture through soil contact to survive and thats why they build their nests in the ground.
Dry wood termites. These do not need moisture from soil contact to survive and can thrive in colonies inside your home.

I have insects swarming in my bathroom. Are those termites?

It’s possible! If they are termites, you’ll notice swarmers flying towards light fixtures.

Is it a termite or an ant?

Termites and ants can look quite similar. Here are a few ways to tell them apart:

Wings: Termites have wings in the front and back that are equal in length and double the size of their body. Ants have shorter wings that are not the same length. Their front wings are longer than their back wings.

Antennae: If you see an insect with straight antennae, it’s a termite. If the antennae are bent, it’s an ant.

Body: Ants have a narrow waist and termites do not.

Do you offer same/next day service?

Yes. If you call by 2 p.m., in most cases, we can service the same day. Otherwise, we’ll schedule an appointment for you the next day.

$149 Initial German Roach Service

Includes First Two Treatments

German Roaches

If you have American roaches or other roaches, our general pest services will take care of them. If you have German roaches, on the other hand, they require a different approach.

For the $149, we do the initial flush out of your home and then we also set up a follow up appointment two weeks later to treat any of the eggs that have hatched.

German Roaches are covered under our general pest service, after the $149 Initial Service. See what that includes here.

For larger infestations, additional fees may apply.

How are German roaches different than others?

German cockroaches can be one of the hardest insects to treat, because they are fast, resilient, and multiply quickly. The easiest way to tell a German roach from other kinds of roaches is noticing their tan to light brown coloring and two parallel stripes on the back of their heads.

How do you treat them?

Treatment consists of an inspection, flushing them out of their hiding places, and ongoing treatments to take care of the egg hatchlings. We will come back every two weeks to break the lifecycle of the roaches and their eggs.

What attracts roaches to a clean house?

The most common factors that attract roaches to clean homes include:

  • Untidy landscaping from fallen palm fronds and rotting fruits
  • Moisture from leaking sinks or washing machines
  • Food sources that we may not consider food, like cardboard, hair, and even glue
  • Overflowing trash cans near easy entrance points
  •  Easy entrance points, including gaps under doors and torn screen doors
Expand for additional questions...

What season are cockroaches most active?

Cockroaches are active year-round, as long as the temperature stays above 50 degrees. Cockroach infestations are most common in the spring and summer, however.

What are the main signs of an infestation?

Roaches are most active at night, but they leave behind signs of their existence that you can see during the day. Here are the most common: (1) droppings that look like tiny specks of pepper or larger pellets, (2) a musty odor, (3) skin shedding, (4) brown smear marks, and (5) egg capsules.

How do I get rid of roaches permanently?

Natural treatments can work temporarily, but the best way to permanently get rid of roaches is to hire a pest control expert.

What is the most effective treatment for roaches?

The most effective treatment for roaches is to find and eliminate their entry point, nest location, and feeding areas. Then your pest control expert can eliminate them using gel traps and other forms of poison bait.

Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

No. You’ll only sign a 4-month agreement which includes your initial treatment & one additional treatment (plus, anything you might need in between). No need to sign a new agreement after the 4-months, service will continue until you decide otherwise.

Do you offer same/next day service?

Yes. If you call by 2 p.m., in most cases, we can service the same day. Otherwise, we’ll schedule an appointment for you the next day.

Can I just do a one-time treatment?

You can, but we advise against it. The 4-month agreement helps us ensure that we take care of the eggs that hatch, and also other migrating pests from the surrounding areas. If you choose a one-time treatment, it costs $229 and comes with a 30-day warranty.

$119 Initial Mosquito Service

Mosquitoes

We use In2Care mosquito traps. They are highly effective and are tested and approved to be safe for humans and pets; they're also safe for other animals, such as birds and fish. In addition, we treat surrounding bushes, shrubs and nesting spots where mosquitoes hide during the day time.

How do In2Care mosquito traps work?

The mosquito is attracted to a special odor in the trap. When they land on the floating gauze strip in these traps, they are exposed to a bioactive powder and a naturally occurring fungus.

The powder attaches to the mosquito’s legs and feet; the fungus is then absorbed into the body.

The fungus in the trap will affect the mosquito’s ability to bite or sting humans, and the In2Care active ingredients will ultimately kill the mosquito.

As the mosquito flies out of the trap, touching multiple places to lay eggs, it spreads the mosquito-killing powder, killing the larvae before they hatch. It also kills larvae in the nests of other mosquitos.

Why do I have mosquitos in my yard?

Typically, it is due to standing water and a food source (mammals).

Where do mosquitos go during the day?

Mosquitos are only active during dusk and dawn. During the day time, they are nesting on the shrubs and bushes around your home. Because of that, we also treat all the bushes where the mosquitoes nest during the day time so that we can wipe out the adult population. We do this for you monthly to keep the population down.

Can I get rid of mosquitos on my own?

You can try eliminating any standing water. That may help alleviate some of the mosquito population. If you are still having problems, give us a call.

If you choose a one-time treatment, it costs $99 and comes with a 3-day warranty, great for weekends or outdoor parties. Not a long term solution.

Rodents, Rats, and Mice

Rodent treatment begins with a free inspection from one of our licensed inspectors. After the inspection, we'll recommend a path forward. From there, you can choose to schedule service or not.

How long will it take to get rid of rodents, mice, or rats?

Many infestations are effectively eradicated within the first couple of treatments. Our inspector will provide a detailed plan and start treatment the same day.

How do I get rid of them permanently?

Inspection is key to eradicating mice and rats. You need to discover how they are getting into the home and seal the entry points. Over-the-counter traps will help, but they will not stop them from coming inside.

Will they leave on their own?

Usually not. As long as there is a food source and a place to sleep, they will continue to come around.

Do rats go in clean houses?

Yes. Clean houses can get rats, just like dirty houses. Rats and other rodents can come if you provide them with easy access to food, water, and shelter.

Do you offer same/next day service?

Yes. If you call by 2 p.m., in most cases, we can service the same day. Otherwise, we’ll schedule an appointment for you the next day.

Bed Bugs

Bed bug treatment begins with a free inspection from one of our licensed inspectors. If you move forward, you can expect that we’ll eradicate the majority of bed bugs in our first visit. However, bed bugs eat every 10-14 days. Those bed bugs that we didn’t eradicate will come out to eat, so that’s when we’ll come back. We’ll treat every 10-14 days until they are gone.

What kills bed bugs permanently?

The fastest and most effective way to eradicate bed bugs:

  • Understand their reproductive & lifestyle habits
  • Utilize regular treatments designed to keep them out
  • Incorporate the right equipment and products
  • Hire a company with experience treating bed bugs
Can I get rid of bed bugs on my own?

It’s very difficult. Time is extremely important when treating bed bugs. For example, female bed bugs can lay up to 4-8 eggs a day. If there are 10 females laying 4-8 eggs a day eggs, bed bug issues can get out of hand very quickly. You can try to use natural treatments for bed bugs, but they are largely ineffective. Hiring a professional is the best way to quickly and permanently eliminate bed bugs.

Expand for additional questions...

Do bed bugs stay in pillows, carpets, couches, clothes, etc?

Yes. Bed bugs will migrate to wherever their food source is.

Can bed bugs survive in the dryer?

Not usually. To kill bed bugs on clothing, rugs, and other washables, use the medium to high setting on your dryer and run it for at least 30 minutes.

Do you offer same/next day service?

Yes. If you call by 2 p.m., in most cases, we can service the same day. Otherwise, we’ll schedule an appointment for you the next day.

Bee & Beehives

If bees are in your home's walls, we will open a portion of the roof or wall to reach the infestation. If bees are outside, on the other hand, we’ll remove the beehive and exterminate the colony.

Will a beekeeper come and remove the beehive for free?

Most of the time, beekeepers will charge for beehive removal.

Do you exterminate bees?

Yes. If you are looking for a service to remove and relocate bees, you’ll want to reach out to a beekeeper.

I have bees swarming in front of my house. What do I do?

By law, you must wait 48 hours before any type of treatment. They will typically move on within that time period.

Expand for additional questions...

Is it a wasp, a hornet, or a bee?

Many people struggle to tell the difference between wasps and bees because they appear very similar at a distance. When you get up close, you can notice some key differences.

  • Bees are fuzzy with round bodies and legs that help them collect pollen.
  • Wasps are thinner with narrow wastes and skinny legs. They don’t have hairs, which makes them appear shinier.
  • Hornets, which are part of the wasp family, look very similar to wasps except bigger.

What attracts bees to my home?

Bees and related insects are most attracted to the pollen in flowers. However, they also love sweet and sugary substances. If you’re dealing with a bee infestation, it could be because you keep your trash too close to your home or because you aren’t sealing it up completely. Leftover cans of soda or bottles of juice can be very attractive to bees.

Will a bee's nest damage my home?

Yes; If there are bees in the walls of your home, they can damage the wallboard and insulation of your home. They can also stain your walls, and carpenter bees can damage the actual wood of your walls by drilling tiny holes for their nests.

Is it illegal to destroy a bee's nest?

Yes. In many states, including Texas and Colorado where Berrett Home Services does business, it’s illegal for anyone other than a trained bee pest control company to remove bee's nests and spray for bees.

How do you get rid of bees once and for all?

Hire a pest control company. This is the only way to safely and efficiently remove a bee hive or other infestation from your home.

Do you offer same/next day service?

Yes. If you call by 2 p.m., in most cases, we can service the same day. Otherwise, we’ll schedule an appointment for you the next day.

What types of ants do you treat?

The most common are carpenter ants, fire ants, pharaoh ants, little black ants and odorous house ants.

Do you charge extra for fire ant mounds in the yard?

No. Those are included in the service.

Why are ants in home, if my home is clean?

Ants send out scavengers looking for food, water & shelter. Once they find what they are looking for, they leave a pheromone trail for the other ants to follow. Ants can sneak through the tiniest of cracks.

Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

No. You’ll only sign a 4-month agreement which includes your initial treatment & one additional treatment (plus, anything you might need in between). No need to sign a new agreement after the 4-months, service will continue until you decide otherwise.
